Tunesday Adds: Jaguar Jonze, Future Islands & More

Every week, RPM updates Tunesday, our new global music playlist. Check out this week’s adds below!

RPM’s Tunesday is back with a whole heap of new music to choose from. Here are some of our favorites for this week:

Brisbane indie pop trailblazer and awesome activist Jaguar Jonze has dropped “Deadalive,” one of her best songs to date. Written during Covid quarantine between New York and Sydney, this dark, brooding battle cry is as twisted as it is triumphant. That’s not where the Aussie love ends, though: we’ve got an all-star collaboration from three of the country’s best hip hop artists. Baker Boy has teamed up with Dallas Woods and the prolific Sampa the Great on “Better Days,” a song whose sound reflects its sunny title. What’s more, we’ve got the new track from Human Noise (formerly Boydos), a Sydney-based artist and provider of good chat.

From the U.K., we’ve got a new one from Brighton boys Royal Blood, which in our opinion, pairs nicely with the latest single from Future Islands, one of Baltimore, Maryland’s best exports since January Joe. It’s also a good time for collabs: along with our Aussie hip hop superteam, we’ve got the coming together of R&B superstar Joji with Kiwi favorite BENEE, plus the union of beloved Colombian rapper Nanpa Básico and vaunted Canadian producer Jamie Fine.

Last but not least, a few new jams from around the globe. We’ve got the latest toe tapper from Ghanaian rapper Freevibe; the title track off the new album Song Sai from Vietnamese indie kids The Flob; and “Remember It,” a song by Norwegian septet The Northern Belle off their new album We Wither, We Bloom. Happy listening!
