Tunesday Adds: CHAII, Lizzy McAlpine & More

Every week, RPM updates Tunesday, our new global music playlist. Check out this week’s adds below!

This week’s new Tunesday adds are full of globetrotters, and that’s just how we like it. Leading off we’ve got a haunting ballad from Melbourne, Australia native Bec Sykesfollowed up from a true vibe-heavy R&B tune from Chinese American L.A.-based artist MeiWe’ve also got an R&B-tinged indie hip hop bop from true globetrotter Abhi the Nomad, before a gorgeous folk pop masterpiece from rising star Lizzy McAlpine. The Philadelphia native just released her debut album Give Me a Minute, written last year in Spain. Give it a listen!

Then, we hope you’re ready to dance as we’ve got some absolute floor fillers from all over on this playlist. We’ve got one track from Colombian dance duo Salt Cathedral, and another from Belgian/French duo Ascendant Vierge–a tongue in cheek satire of influencer culture with a Dutch gabber inspired beat. Nigerian star Yemi Alade follows that up with her new single “True Love,” before we head to Auckland for “Lightswitch,” the title track off the new EP from Persian-New Zealand rapper CHAII. We featured CHAII on our Global Glimpse: Auckland playlist, and we’re doubling down here on our belief that hers is a name to know going forward.

We’ve got the new track from one of our favorite DJs on the planet: LP Giobbi. The Oregon native and member of the Animal Talk collective has teamed up with Lancashire, England-bred artist Little Boots for “Meet Again,” a piano-driven house jam celebrating the eventual end of lockdown and distancing measures. Rounding it out, we’ve got the new track from Enjambre, the Mexican alternative rock band that, if you’re a fan of The Strokes or any other garage revival artists, you’ve got to get your ears around. Hope you enjoy!
