“Old Town Road” -Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus

Lil Nas X - Old Town Road (Official Video) ft. Billy Ray Cyrus

“I feel like it’s hard to close out the last Tunesday without the most influential song of 2010. I was a hater, then I watched his episode of NYT’s Story of a Song. Lil Nas X went from sleeping on his sister’s couch, to making this song, then just memeing himself until his song finally got big. Just for that, I have a lot of respect for him as a person.” -Becca

“Here Comes My Girl” -Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - Here Comes My Girl (Official Video)

“A CD copy of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Greatest Hits has been kicking around my house for over ten years now. I had a Christmas CD playing at my family’s gathering, but guess who should come sneaking into the CD changer after Polskie Betlejem ended? Thomas Earl Petty. I panicked and just turned it way down, but when my family settled in at the table, everybody heard ‘Here Comes My Girl’ playing really quietly in the silence. The decision was ‘let’s not.'” -Willie

“The Curious Crystals of Unusual Purity” -Bridget St. John

“This one’s a new favorite of mine from Ask Me No Questions. I will always say yes to a pleasant and continuous roll on the guitar.” -Willie

“Enola Gay” -Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Enola Gay

“How have I never heard this song! I’m almost ashamed. The only consolation for this musical crime was that my dad introduced me to the track this holiday season. We had a rare night 1-on-1 and spent it by the fire, jamming to nostalgic tunes. This one brought him back in time a few decades. Forewarning, once the snare roll kicks, you can’t stop moving your body.” -Allie

“Maybe You’re the Reason” -The Japanese House

The Japanese House - Maybe You're the Reason

“Anything produced through Dirty Hit is bound to be just that -- a hit! You can definitely hear the Matt Healy and George Daniel influence in these tracks, as the two members of The 1975 helped in producing The Japanese House’s newest record, ‘Good At Feeling’. The ease and flow of chorus melody linked with the lyric ‘Every time I try to figure it out / You’re the only one I can think about’ is so fluid and engaging. I’m really lovin’ this tune!” -Allie

“Misery” -Michigander

Michigander - Misery

“The simple and catchy chord progression drew me in, but the vocals kept me listening. The narrative in the lyrics paints a bittersweet picture, and as the track gets layered with keys it give a nice aura too it. Quite whimsical.” -Jay

“Impulse” -MRCH

“Probably one of my favorite tracks from this indie electronic duo. The synth and bass combo keeps the waves bouncing and drives throughout the song. It has very after-dark type of vibe, something I’m all too familiar with.” -Jay

“Bizarro” -CZARFACE

“The first track off of CZARFACE’s new album inspired by comic books, ‘The Odd Czar Against Us’. It’s got a classic hip-hop sound and makes a reference to my favorite podcast, ‘Your Moms House’.” -David

“Watermelon Man” -Herbie Hancock

“Great use of instruments and composition making for a really entertaining instrumental good for any walk or chill sesh or commute.” -David

“Your Best American Girl” -Mitski

“This song makes me feel chills up and down my spine and makes tears well in my eyes. Mitski just knows how to speak to my most fragile emotions.” -Andrew

“What Sarah Said” -Death Cab For Cutie

“It’s one of the big reasons why Plans might be my favorite album of 2005. Death Cab aren’t afraid to touch on the darker and more terrifying subject matters in life.” -Andrew

“Nadie Va” -Elsa y Elmar

“My roommate has been playing this song a lot when we hang out. Now, I can’t get the catchy beat out of my head.” -Becca
