Exclusive: Patches Premiere New Single “Parallel Lines”

New York-based indie rock band Patches is back with their new single, “Parallel Lines,” and RPM has the scoop.

Formed at Manhattan’s prestigious Columbia University, Patches have been getting some attention around NYC for their buzz-worthy live shows. Now off the back of their first EP Mary Todd, they’ve released their first song of the new decade. “Parallel Lines” is 3-ish minutes of fuzzed out melancholic bliss, the kind that punches you right in the ribs, but in a way that feels good and almost ticklish. Think of it as a feather duster swirling around your sternum.

And while “Parallel Lines” is undoubtedly the main course, we get a scrumptious dessert in the B-Side, “Geno.” The opening riff sounds to me like the feeling of coming home for the winter holidays after several months away. And if Austin Horn’s sweeping vocals don’t resonate deep within you, especially during that chorus? Then we clearly don’t speak the same language.
